CHEC-Affiliated Support Groups

Christian Home Educators of Cincinnati - CHEC - is a citywide organization comprised of fourteen local area support groups in Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont Counties.  Some CHEC groups are larger than others but all offer the same level of parent support and similar children's activities.  We share roller skating and teen activities once a month--located on east, west and north sides of the greater Cincinnati area.

Each CHEC group collects dues from members to cover the costs of the monthly newsletter, honorariums for speakers, and other expenses incurred by the group.  All of the CHEC groups provide assistance with Standardized Testing and the Portfolio Assessment options to member families.  The dues vary from group to group but are around $25 per year.

Families share and agree to a Statement of Faith that identifies who we are in Christ Jesus and our responsibility and high calling to bring our children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  Families usually join the CHEC group that is closest to their home.

CHEC hosts citywide meetings with nationally-known speakers, an annual Orientation Day Seminar for prospective home schoolers and an annual Used Curriculum Sale as a service to the home school community at large.  These public events can be found in the
Events section on this website.
